One-of-a-kind gift set:
This elegant Russian filigree bowl was made by hand, not by a machine. It is an outstanding example of filigree design and craftsmanship as perfected during the days of Catherine the Great. The pattern is reminiscent of bobbin-lace with seed pearl enhancements. Hand-crafted in the tiny town of Kazakavo, near Nihzny Novgorod (formerly the city of Gorky). The piece, originally siver plated, has been 24Kt gold plated. Includes a heavy cobalt blue glass insert. 4"high, 5" diameter.
Cobalt blue wine glass with a gold plated Romanov Russian eagle designed in the era of Peter the Great (reigned 1682-1725). A bright silver plated starburst sets off the eagle. 8¼" tall. 3¼" diameter.
