Stunning painted icon of Holy Royal Martyr Tsar Nicholas II dressed in Coronation regalia. He wears the Great Imperial Crown, first used by Catherine the Great. The crown is in style of a mitre divided into two half-spheres with a central arch between them and topped by diamonds and a red spinel. The Imperial Scepter was comprised of a burnished shaft of three sections containing eight rings of brilliant-cut diamonds and topped by the Orlov Diamond and surmounted by a double-headed eagle with the coat of arms of Russia at its center. The orb consisted of a polished hollow ball made from red gold encircled by two rows of diamonds and surmounted by a large sapphire topped by a cross. His Coronation Robe is ermine-lined, encircled with an elaborate chain of the Order of St. Andrew, and embroidered double-headed eagles on the gold brocade. The two sections are tied with a long belt of gold beads. Written below, in Church Slavonic: Holy Martyr Tsar Nicholas II. 8x10". By a master iconographer in Rostov-on-the-Don. 1 only.
