The Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia are represented by Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, his wife Tsarina Alexandra, and their five children Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei. They are saints canonized "New Martyrs" by the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad in 1981 and subsequently canonized as "Passion Bearers" by the Moscow Patriarchate in 2000. The family was executed on July 17, 1918 by the Bolsheviks at the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg, Russia. This site is now beneath the altar of the The Church on Blood (full name: Church on Blood in Honor of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land). The names of each martyr is spelled out using Old Slavonic lettering. The dedications in Slavonic calligraphy read: "Holy Royal Martyrs", "Tsar Nicholas" and "Tsarina Alexandra", as well as the Slavonic names of the children.

Mounted under glass in an ornate gold leaf frame. Painted in Russia. About 13" x 11" overall.  1 only as shown.
