Russian Orthodox Priest Cabinet Photo from 1904. A stern-looking Russian Orthodox priest. He wears a long silver chain with a silver pectoral cross and is dressed in a black cassock. Another cross/medal is pinned on a chain on his left shoulder.

The cabinet card has more information as to its origin on the back. "Photograph by T. A. Shifrina - Rostov-on-the-Don". Front of the card is stamped 1904. The card is higher quality heavy card stock with silver imprinting on the front. A long Russian inscription handwritten in cursive says" In loving memory to my student for (her) participation in ....(illegible)..church...(illegible). Signed, presumably by the subject of the photo: "Valentin...(illegible)."

This is a full-length cabinet portrait from 1905 and which measures 4 1/8" x 6 1/2". The card is graded as being in good to very good condition with some soiling to the mostly white foreground, rounded corners and some minor staining to back. Photo details are sharp and crisp.
