Russian impressionist painting of a Troika with wolves in a winter landscape. There must be quite a story behind this very dynamic and interesting genre painting. For starters, if you look closely, behind the lead troika are two additional horses galloping alongside the coach. The driver in the foreground is sitting on the center horse urging the troika on and looking back at the wolves. Polish clothing indicates origin of painting circa 1900 during the time Poland was part of the Russian empire.
