Product Description
Bears at the Banya (Медведи в бане). Bogorodsk toy with the bears atop two levers that are pulled back and forth. These are bundles of oak or birch twigs and leafy branches bound together, dipped in cold water, and struck briskly on the body.
Fine linden carving. Bogorodsk Toy Factory, Zagorsk region, circa mid-1990s. Marked "Made in Russia" in purple on one of the levers. 10" x 4". Uncommon. 1 only, as shown.
Note: last two images show the toy from both sides, firstly in a up, and then down position.
