Nina Alexandrovna Malysheva (1914-1983) made the original model for this piece. Nina Alexandrovna was a sculptor and porcelain painter and worked at the Dulyovo Porcelain Factory. Here complex multi-figure sculptures were created on the themes of childhood and happy motherhood, classical ballet, and dance. Some of her most famous sculptures are "Manicure", "Lezginka", "Phone conversation" and "Girl with chickens". She took part in international and all-union exhibitions. Her works can be found in museums in Moscow, Tver, Omsk, and Lugansk.
Dulyovo (aka Dulevo) Porcelain Works is one of the most famous Russian (and former Soviet) porcelain manufacturers. The works were founded in the Dulyovo wasteland (now Likino-Dulyovo) in 1832 by merchant Terenti Kuznetsov.
