Aria (Ария) Candy Dish. Given the name "Aria Vase" by its makers at the workshop in Kazakavo, Russia, because of the beautiful design, this piece is entirely made by hand. This delicate and labor-intensive piece is an excellent example of design and craftsmanship reminiscent of "bobbin-lace" (a textile made by braiding and twisting lengths of thread, which are wound on bobbins). Attached throughout are tiny grains (seeds) and the dish was dipped in near pure (99.9%) silver. The small village of Kazakavo is near Nihzny Novgorod (formerly the city of Gorky). 5¾" diameter and about 2½" deep. A beautiful compliment to our silver plated Russian Tea Glass Holders.
