Filigree Egg (Филигранное яйцо). An example of the ultimate in fine filigree work, as perfected back in the days of Catherine the Great. Opens to reveal a tiny rosette. Every curve is formed by hand from copper wire, then the piece is plated with 99% pure silver. Fine seed pearls are sprinkled throughout and another rosette sits atop the egg. Museum-quality and available in a limited edition. This same egg was sold by Nieman Marcus 20 years ago for $150 (!). We have acquired the last remaining inventory and are offering it for about 70% less. Entirely hand-made at Kazakavo, a hamlet near Nihzny Novgorod. 4" tall.
