Dulevo Porcelain Works is one of the most famous porcelain manufacturers in Russia The works were founded in the Dulevo wasteland (now Likino-Dulyovo) in 1832 by merchant Terenty Kuznetsov. In 1864, the works passed to his grandson Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov, the future "porcelain and faience king of all Russia." All the members of the large Kuznetsov family were Old Believers, and Matvey Sidorovich even held the honorary post of Chairman of the Old Believer community of the Rogozhskaya Sloboda. They built churches, schools, hospitals and more. After the revolution, the factory was nationalized and renamed the Dulevo Porcelain Factory. In the 1930's of the XX century, the output was about 75 million porcelain and earthenware products annually. In 1958 a porcelain figurine named Falcon won the Grand Prix at the Brussels World’s Fair. The falcon soon became the symbol and trademark of the Dulevo factory. In 2012, the plant, privatized by its employees in the 1990's, was on the verge of bankruptcy. With a huge tax debt and outdated equipment roughly 500 craftspeople were left to work at the factory. However, large-scale reorganization benefited the enterprise and today, the Dulevsky factory is one of the largest porcelain producers in Europe.
