Gray Sphynx Cat (Lomonosov)

Gray Sphynx Cat (Серый сфинкс). Also known as the Canadian Sphynx, this cat lacks fur, a naturally occurring genetic mutation. Its skin has the texture of chamois leather. They are extroverts, highly intelligent and energetic. The Sphynx is affectionate to their owners and friendly to strangers. Finely painted. 3¾" in height. Blue LFZ mark. This elegant porcelain miniature would make a fine gift to an owner of the breed, or to lovers of cats in general.

The Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (Ломоносовский фарфоровый завод) has had a long history, starting with its name. When founded in 1744, it carried the name Imperial Porcelain Factory (Императорский фарфоровый завод). In 1925, it became Lomonosov, named after the scientist and writer Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765). Finally, in 2005, it came full circle and was renamed the Imperial Porcelain Factory (or Manufactory), or IPM, for short.
