Kirov (Vyatka) Family (Семья Кировых). A short-lived 5-nest matryoshka from Vyatka circa 1990. Each piece is decorated somewhat differently than the standard Viatka maiden dolls. The is given a red service cap and the mother a flower shawl. The older boy has a rooster on a stick toy. All three of the last pieces have freckles and the the last one a splash of red hair. The bottom of the first doll has a purple stamp "MADE IN RUSSIA". It was produced just when USSR was transitioning over to Russia. An interesting piece.
Note: the father's cap has been bumped, no doubt it was dropped sometime in the past. He is also a bit tight to open. The second doll is a bit rubbed at the top and has a bit of lacquer rubbed away. None of these issues detract as the doll is in very good collectible condition. 1 only, as shown.
