Product Description
Masha and The Bear (Маша и Медведь). Hand made toy from Tver circa 1989. Wood, paint, lacquer. 5"x 2½". Brand new condition. Limited quantity.
An older couple had a granddaughter named Masha. One fine day, she decided to go to the forest with her friends to gather mushrooms and berries. Masha strayed, became lost, and after a while, came upon an empty house, which, she soon discovered, belonged to a great big bear. The bear insisted Masha stay with him, but she eventually grew forlorn, and wished to return to her grandparents. Masha tricked the bear into taking some homemade pies in a large basket, into which she climbed and hid. She soon was reunited with her grandparents. The cartoon, Masha and the Bear, is loosely based on this story.
