"Metrushchka" Semenov-style dolls made in India by Kubla Crafts (who are still in business, but not selling nesting dolls anymore). Typical red, green, black and yellow but with faces more suited to India than Russia. The flowers are pink. The painting is sophisticated and the wood is indigenous (a hardwood different from typical Russian linden or birch). Dolls fit reasonably well and lacquered and polished to a high gloss. These date to before 1986 when Kubla imported 3 piece dolls (and the last one opened up, but was empty - a nod to the cost added to the overall price of that last piece). 1 available, as shown.
