Pair of leaded crystal brandy or cognac snifters made at the Gusevsky Crystal Factory (aka "Гусь-Хрустальный") in the town of Gus-Khrustalny near Vladimir. The glasses are blown, not pressed and are circa 1991-95. They hold about 6-8 oz but are usually partially filled. They weigh about 1.5 pounds each and stand 5½ tall with diameter about 4½ inches at the widest. They have etched dot-in-diamond designs and are decorated with an etching of the Russian Imperial crown. The factory has been closed for quite a long while as it became unsustainable after 1991 to keep it open amidst world-wide competition. 1 pair only, as shown.
