"The Four Seasons" Decorative and Collector Plate Series was issued by "Byliny Porcelain". Art for the series was commissioned from Kholuy artist Sergei Devyatkin. Eight plates were put out in 1992-1993, which was near the tail-end of the collector frenzy. They are somewhat less common and used colors and designs elements that were different from earlier plate series editions.
Sergei Borisovich Devyatkin (1961-2005) was born in the village of Kholuy. His father was an acclaimed miniaturist. Sergei Borisovich studied at the Kholuy art vocational school from 1976 to 1982 and went on to work in the Kholuy workshops. A distinctive feature of the artist is the ornament, unusually rich and beautiful.
