Published in the last quarter of the 20th century, this was the first serious overview of the largest collections of samovars in the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg). It collected many fine examples from Russian museums as well as the private collection of P. Kvaskov, from the mid-18th to the 20th Ccentury. Additionally, the book photographed period-era metal utensils and other articles within the "orbit" of copper, brass, tombac and silver 18th-19th century samovars, including tea utensils, dinner sets, oil paintings depicting the actual use of samovars in daily life of old Russia, serving trays, as well as glass and porcelain objects.
