Product Description
The Scarlet Flower (Аленький цветочек). The merchant father has returned from his travels and has brought gifts to his three daughters. The two eldest admire the crystal mirror and fine silks, while the youngest is transfixed by the Scarlet Flower which the merchant has picked from the garden of the Beast. This act sets the daughter on a journey of discovery and redemption. The tale is analogous to "Beauty and the Beast." Fedoskino, circa 1980. Materials used are oil paints, papier-mache, metallic powders and lacquer. 4½" x 4½" x 2". Difficult to make out artist's signature bottom right, as it blends in with the painting. 1 only.
