Edward M. Newman (1870–1953) was a film producer of documentary travelogue film shorts released by Warner Brothers. This book was published prior to his film making. He traveled Russia and reported on the Volga river, Chaliapin, Novgorod, October Prospekt, Alexander Nevsky Monastery, Czaritsa Elizabeth, Yalta and more. A fascinating look at cultural and social conditions nearly 100 years ago and just after the earth-shaking Russian revolution.
