Snowmaiden with The Villagers (Снегурочка с Жителями Деревни). A couple made a snowman in the image of a young girl, who came alive the next morning. She became known as The Snowmaiden. A trip into the forest garnered her adventure and interest from Father Frost. This image depicts her return, to the great relief of her parents and the villagers. The Snowmaiden is a much beloved Russian fairy tale and her iconic image is often painted on lacquer boxes.
