Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) was an Art Nouveau illustrator and painter, born in Moravia (present day Czech Republic). Art Nouveau was a link between the visual nineteenth century styles and intense twentieth century modernism, with influence on architecture, as well as applied arts such as glasswork, ceramics, jewelry, furniture and household silver. The style derived from flowers and other plants, leaves and tendrils and vines, as first widely seen in Mucha's posters. It is sometimes called the "Tiffany Style", and was also linked to the German "Jugendstil".
Note: we have two more boxes with Mucha paintings. Please request pictures.
