Vyatka "Uzor" Northern Maidens. We recently found a small amount of these somewhat uncommon high-quality purple-colored dolls that had been stashed away. The color purple, which seldom occurs in nature, is a consistent highlight occurring on the first doll of these 7-nested matryoshkas. "Uzor" (Узор) is a Russian word that means "patterned weaving" and the hand painted flowers on this traditional doll have pattern colors of red, green and yellow. Made in the Kirov Factory in the mid-1980s. They will have either a "USSR" sticker or "USSR" purple stamp on the bottoms of the first doll. 7 nest, 6" to 1½".
