Yoshkar-Ola (Yoscar-Ola) is a Russian city and the capital of the Mari El Republic. The name literally means Red City in the language of the Mari. These dolls were sometimes referred to as Marijaha dolls. The dolls are tightly nested and painted in bright, primary colors. They are 6 nested with a "Made in USSR" sticker on the bottom of the first. Made in the 1980s. 3½" down to less than 1".  Excellent condition. 1 only
