Product Description
Ilya Muromets (Илья Муромец) is the most well-known of the bogatyrs (epic knights) from the Rus' folklore. In this panel he is flanked by fellow bogatyrs Dobrynya Nikitich and Alyosha Popovich. This association is memorialized in the famous painting by Viktor Vasnetsov of the trio of warriors seated on horseback.
Unpainted lacquered jigsaw cutout with wood burnt outlines. Hand made in Russia. 11" x 7½" 1 only.
