Заметки Коллекционера (A Collector's Notes). Rostislav Polchaninov (Polchaninoff) was born in 1919 in Novocherkassk, Russia. His father served on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief of the White Army. After leaving Russia and settling in Yugoslavia, Polchaninov became active in the scouting movement, first joining the Yugoslav Boy Scouts, and later the Russian emigre Boy Scouts and Sokols. After WWII, he settled in the US where he continued his scouting work, taught in parochial schools, worked for Radio Liberty (1967-1983) and wrote articles for American and emigre newspapers. This book collects his observations on Russian culture.
