Autumn Sunset (Осенний закат). The painting focuses on the beauty of a glowing setting sun in an open glade in the forest. Delicate miniature oil painting on papier-mache. The piece simply shimmers as the shades of orange and gold play against the dark trees.
Fedoskino, circa late 1980s. Materials used are oil paints, lacquer, and metallic powders. Set in aa melchior bezel with a pinback. Gift boxed. 2¼" diameter. 1 only, as shown.
Note: White, cloudy or dark areas in the photo are "hot spots" caused by studio lights reflected from off the shiny lacquer. The pin is fine.
