An elegant small hardcover published in 1974 in four languages (Russian, English, French and German) with photos and diagrams of this most important Orthodox cloister in Moscow. Also know as Our Lady of Smolensk Monastery, the convent was founded by Grand Duke Vasily III in 1524 in honor of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God. Unlike other Moscow cloisters, it has remained virtually intact since the 17th century.
