Product Description
Pskov Kremlin (Псковский Кремль). The Pskov Kremlin (i.e., Krom) is the core of the Pskov fortress. It is a majestic architectural monument whose roots go back 1000 years, first as earthen ramparts, then wooden, and finally stone fortifications. The Trinity Cathedral within also goes back centuries.
An interesting panel with work reminiscent of "kustar" production. Carved and painted on pine with pokerwork, painting, and glossy lacquer. Probably made in the "Pskov Experimental Factory of Art Products" ("Экспериментальный завод художественных изделий УМП Псковского облисполкома") around 1980 or so. "Псков" (Pskov) etched into the back bottom right. High-quality similar to work done on boxes. Unusual in our experience. Fine condition. 12½" x 8¾". 1 only.
