The original design was created by master artist Antonina Varlova, to evoke the charm and beauty of a delicate snowflake. Pure silver over copper and 24Kt gold plate. The village of Kazakovo, 230 miles east of Moscow (Vachsky district, Nizhny Novgorod, Volga region), is a center for the artistic processing of metal using the filigree technique. This art was brought here in the 1930s from the village of Krasnoe-on-Volga. Craftsmen have been creating this amazing filigree metalwork, using only scissors and pincers, for almost 80 years.
