    • Victorian Art Nouveau White Floral Egg Box. A bygone-era is evoked by this exquisite and finely detailed enamel egg. A colorful bee sits atop the egg while a pearly butterfly nests at the base. The bee symbolizes the sun and the butterfly symbolizes the soul and resurrection. Flowers include yellow and green daisies, white roses and lilies, and elegant green leaves. This egg is based loosely on the "Paskha" Easter egg created by Mikhail Perchin in 1902, who worked as master jeweler in the Faberge firm in St. Petersburg. The original was given to Empress Alexandra by her husband, Tsar Nicholas II. The high quality enamel is baked onto a pewter base, then polished and set with genuine Austrian crystals. Makes a wonderful gift and can used to store small jewelry. Comes in a satin-lined presentation box.

A vintage horse sculpture that was designed by Boris Yakovlevich Vorobiev (1911-1990), who was associated with the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (LFZ) beginning in 1936 and ending in about 1980 due to illness. Hand painted hard paste porcelain in about new condition (small mark on the underside is a "release" mark incurred in the factory). 9⅝" x 3⅛" x 7½"

    • The Theotokos of Vladimir (Владимирская икона Божией Матери). This Orthodox icon of the Eleusa type, Tenderness in Greek, and Умиление in Russian, expresses the age-old relationship of Mother and Child with great emphasis. Christ, as a child, touches his Mother's face with one hand and while pressing His cheek against Hers. Her sorrowful gaze foresees the Passion as they lock in an eternal embrace. Around 1131, the original icon was taken from Constantinople to Vychgorod, near Kiev. Then, in 1155, Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky took it to the city of Vladimir, from whence it took its name. In 1395, with Moscow in danger of being overrun by Tamerlane's Mongol hordes, the icon was brought to Moscow and installed at the Uspensky (Dormition of The Virgin) Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin. After danger had passed, the icon was returned to Vladimir. In 1480 it was again placed in the Moscow Kremlin.
