Product Description
Cobalt Net Small Teapot. This fine porcelain small teapot is hand decorated in the classic Cobalt Net pattern. In Russia, tea is usually served with the help of two teapots, one large and one small. The smaller one would hold a strongly made brew, while a larger teapot, or a kettle, would dispense the hot water, which then is mixed together to make a cup of tea to taste.
Fully hand painted and decorated at the former Lomonosov Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg, Russia (factory is now known as The Imperial Porcelain Factory). Red "Made in USSR" backstamp indicates manufacture was pre-1991. This is the genuine article and not a foreign knockoff. Mineral cobalt, 22Kt gold. Holds approximately 2½ cups comfortably. 7" width, 4¼" height. New condition. 1 only.
