Cossack Figure. Beautifully detailed and painted carved figure dressed in the characteristic black uniform (cherkesska) of the Kuban Cossacks. Caftan, black boots, tall white hat with Imperial badge, gold epaulettes, St. George medal and ribbon - all are lovingly recreated. Head swivels and arms are poseable. Everything is wood, including saber, which can be placed into the right hand of the figure. Bogorodsk or Sergiev Posad, circa 1997. Initials of the artist on the bottom of the boots. 9¾" in height, 1 only.
