Karelian Birch Ring Box. Karelian Birch, also known as Masur Birch, describes a particular grain figure that occurs in some species of European Birch. It is a stunningly beautiful and unique marble-like figure, resembling burl and birdseye maple. Karelia, where the birch is found, is a region between Finland and Russia.
An elegant gold-plate cast double-headed eagle, symbol of the Russian Tsars, is applied to the cover. Box is hinged, lacquered and polished. 2⅛" x 1½" (5.4cm x 3.7cm).
Note: the box you receive will have a different grain pattern than that shown here - but it will be just as nice.
