Kirov Lad with Bayan Box (Кировский мальчик с Баяном). A specialty item from Vyatka circa 1988. A holder, 5" in height, which opens from the middle. Depicted is a young boy playing a bayan and wearing a purple service cap. The cap and collar machined from one piece of wood. The bayan is a chromatic button accordion developed in Russia in the early 20th century and named after 11th-century bard Boyan. USSR paper insert in Russian. Made in the Kirov factory. Brand new. A nice addition to any Russian folk art collection.
