St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Святитель Николай Чудотворец) 19th century brass icon. St. Nicholas blesses with his right hand while holding the Book of Gospels in his left. In the upper corners are half-figures of Christ the Savior and the Mother of God with an omophorion (veil) in Her hands riding in the clouds. Inscriptions include "St. Nicholas the Wonderworker", "Jesus Christ" and "Mother of God".
Moscow, mid to late 19th century. High relief brass casting, hand enameling. 3¾” x 4¼” (9.53 x 10.8 cm). 8.3oz. (235 grams). About fine condition, 1 only.
