Young Woman with Embroidered Red Kokoshnik Lacquer Brooch (Русская девушка с вышитым кокошником). Oil painting on papier-mache of a young woman with a gold embroidered red kokoshnik (a traditional Russian headdress worn primarily in the northern regions of Russia in the 16th to 19th centuries) and a translucent green collar sarafan (a traditional jumper dress with thin shoulder straps). A shimmering lace veil falls down her back. The girl is posed in profile on a jet black background. Melchior (nickel-copper) setting with pin back. 1¾"x2". Overall very good condition (estate jewelry). No marks or signature. Circa 1992. 1 only, as shown. Gift boxed.
