Reverse: ВОШЕЛ НА ЦАРСТВО 1645 ГОДУ ВЗЯЛ СМОЛЕНСК ПОБЕДИЛ КРЫМЦОВ ПРИ НЕМ СОЧИНЕНО УЛОЖЕНИЕ ВЛ 31 ГОД ЖИЛ 47 ЛЕТ (Roughly: HE ENTERED THE KINGDOM IN 1645, TOOK SMOLENSK, DEFEATED THE CRIMEANS, AND A CODE* WAS COMPOSED UNDER HIM)
* (Note: He was the first tsar to sign laws on his own authority and his council passed the Sobornoye Ulozheniye of 1649, which strengthened the bonds between autocracy and the lower nobility. Also, all inscriptions in Old Cyrillic, reverse inscription in parallel lines.
