Product Description
Antique Russian Samovar. Attributed to the Factory of the Vorontsov Brothers Factory in Tula, Russia. Manufactured in the second half of the 19th century. The Vorontsovs owned two large factories with a staff of about 300 workers. One belonged to the Vorontsov Brothers, the other to the Vorontsov Heirs. The samovar, with its wood handles and knobs, has a classic design with excellent details. About 22" in height, 12" in diameter, weighs nearly 15 pounds.
Very good condition, no dents. The golden brass has a warm quality and has not been cleaned. It has some minor age spotting. Inside chamber has calcium and mineral deposits indicative of prior use. The burn chamber plate, essentially a grill, is missing (last photograph shows where it would be). A simple wire mesh fix could restore full function, if that's the goal. Finally, a 16" x 12" contemporary oval brass tray is included.
