Product Description
Antique Vorontsov Brothers 19th c. Samovar. Attributed to the Factory of the Vorontsov Brothers, Tula (second half of the 19th century.) The Vorontsovs owned two large factories with a staff of about 300 in Tula, one belonging to Vorontsov Brothers, the other to Vorontsov Heirs. The samovar, with its wood handles and knobs, exhibits classic design and details. About 22" in height, 12" in diameter, about 15#.
Very good condition, no dents. The golden brass has a warm quality and has not been cleaned. It has some minor age spotting. Inside chamber has heavy calcium and mineral deposits indicating that the samovar was well-used. The burn chamber plate is missing (last photograph shows where it would be). A simple wire mesh fix could restore full function. Finally, we have included a more contemporary oval brass tray (16"x 12").
