The Ascension (Вознесение Христа). The Ascension of Jesus is the physical departure of Christ from Earth into the presence of God in Heaven. The four roundels repeat the image of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. This is the 2nd plate in the LIGHT OF CHRIST Series from the "Kholuiskaya Miniyatura" collection. Art for the plate series was created by Sergei Devyatkin and the series was issued in 1993. Certificate and paperwork, but no box. 1 only.

Sergey Borisovich Devyatkin (1961-2005) was born in Kholui. He studied at the Kholui Art College from 1976-1982. He worked on genre painting, mostly fairy tales, and his stand-out talent was his attention to ornamentation. His father, Boris Sergeyevitch, was also an accomplished artist and miniaturist.
