Cosmonauts "Counting" Nesting Toy. Ten brightly hand painted miniature cosmonauts on a pegged board. Semenov had a tradition of producing colorful and whimsical toys to instruct developing young minds. This set was made to teach children to count and recognize colors as well as to develop manual dexterity. Hand painted in Semenov, near Moscow. Child-safe materials (though not intended for children under 3 years old). The painted wood board is 10" in length and 2" wide. Each cosmonaut is 2" in height. Made in USSR in 1985/1986.
