Product Description
Hunter and Animal Friends. This unusual set was made in Polkh Maidan and exported to the US in the early 1990s. The painting and a few distinguishing characteristics are not common to Polkh dolls, but the two animal whistles and the shaped lathework are typical of Polkh. A brightly painted hunter (in fact, all the pieces are quite colorful), opens to reveal an animal set of two cats and a bird, and the aforementioned whistles. The bottom of the doll is inscribed in pen "В.Е. Смирнова" and "Россия". Presumably this is the artist's name, but nothing was assured back then ( "Россия" is Russia), and Smirnova is a common name. 7" in height. 1 only.
