Product Description
Polkhov Maidan Matryoshka. This is an unusual pear-shape Polkh doll that probably dates to about 10-15 years ago. The style of the doll as made by the turners has changed. The facie has definitely changed, less folk art, and more bemused. Also, note the simpler layout on the reverse, for example, there is no long braid, for a long time the hallmark of Polkh and Krutets creations. This one was not intended, most likely, for export, but was sold in the markets in Moscow. 5 nest, 5" to 1'". About fine condition. 1 only, as pictured.
