  • Reproduction of a Popov Figure of a Finnish Woman (Фигурка "Чухонка"). This piece was originally designed from an engraving in the book "A Description of All the Peoples Inhabiting the Russian State" by ethnographer and traveler Johann Gottlieb Georgi. The woman's costume is derived from the Karelo-Finnish population of the environs of St. Petersburg.

The A.G. Popov porcelain factory in Gorbunovo (Dmitrovsky uezd, Moscow) was purchased from the owner in 1811, inherited by Popov's children in the 1850s, then to Dmitry's sons, and, after passing through several more hands, was closed in 1875.

This figure was made for the Hillwood Museum in Italy for the Mottahedeh porcelain line, designed in Italy.
