 "Petit Coeur" Vase [with Cobalt Glass Insert]. A beautiful filigree basket made in Russia in the Kazakovo workshops. The graceful and delicate heart motif is repeated numerous times. An outstanding example of hand craftsmanship  that was perfected during the days of Catherine the Great. 99.9% pure silver over copper. 5" diameter; about 3½" tall.

In Russia, Kazakovskaya filigree has been celebrated for a long time. Filigree can be found at excavation sites dating back to the 9th century. In 1927, a metal production center was founded in the village of Kazakovo near Nizhny Novgorod.
