Christ is bearded, His brown hair centrally parted, and His head is surrounded by a halo. One hand blesses while the other hand holds the New Testament open to the passage from Matthew "Come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." The inscriptions in Slavonic are: "Mother of God", "Most Blessed Holy Mother of God of Kazan", "Jesus Christ" and "He Who Is" around the halo.
Superb chromo-lithographic icons that were specially printed on gold and silver foil, mounted on a panel, and then edged with bright gold trim. In an elegant hinged gold-edged paper case with a clasp. "Спаси и Сохрани" ("Save and Protect") and three cupolas with Orthodox crosses are on the cover.
