Ice Fishing [Fedoskino]

Product Description

Ice Fishing (Подледная рыбалка). Fedoskino, mid-1970s. Winter scene with several figures. Foreground includes two men fishing, and one using a hand drill to carve out a hole. In the background, a young woman carries a pair of water buckets and a single horse sleigh carries a driver and passenger. A long wooden fence runs the length of three houses. An interesting subject. Medium-sized hinged papier-mache box in about fine condition. Materials include oil paints, metallic powders, and clear lacquer. 4" x 3½" x 1½". 1 only.  

Note: it's difficult to make out the artist's signature bottom right, as it blends in with the painting.
