Born and raised in the Orthodox faith, Evgenia holds a master's degree in Educating Adults, from DePaul University, and a bachelor's degree in Byzantine Art and Culture. She paints on birch wood, or canvas mounted on birch wood. A brilliant lacquer is applied to protect and enhance the vibrant 24kt gold leaf and vivid colors.
