Polkhovsky-Maidan (Полховский-Майдан) Matryoshka. Polkhovsky Maiden is the central village in the Voznesensk district. Another village, Krutets, is not far away. Both of these villages employ similar decorating styles, for example, the use of aniline dyes and vigorous colors such as crimson, yellow, orange, and green, with some patches of blue and violet. Two of the dolls have long braids with the first doll tied with a bow. This set is from the early to mid-1980's and has the remnants of a paper label on the bottom of the first doll. 3 nest, 5" down to 2". 1 only, as pictured.
