Mother of God “The Unexpected Joy” (Икона Нечаянная Радость). This icon is venerated on May 14th (1st by the old calendar). Its origin stems from the writings of St. Dimitri of Rostov. He tells of a sinner who unexpectedly experienced the joy of repentance before an icon where he sees blood on the hands and feet of Christ.
