Potal (Поталь) Matryoshka. A classic Sergiev Posad matryoshka with friendly faces and delicate features. Embellished with "potal" ("поталь"), which is a form of gold foil decoration that imitates gilding. Additionally, each doll is enhanced with wood burning (pokerwork) and painted features. Vintage from Sergiev Posad, made about 15 years ago. 5⅜" down to 1¼". 1 only, as shown.
